At First United Methodist Church of Casper, our faith is grounded in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and shaped by the Wesleyan tradition of grace, service, and community. We believe that faith is not just something we hold—it’s something we live out every day, together, in the heart of Wyoming.
God’s Love for All
We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—whose love embraces every person and every part of creation. God’s grace goes before us, surrounds us, and transforms us. No one stands outside the reach of that love.
Jesus Christ: Our Example and Redeemer
We follow Jesus Christ, who revealed God’s love through compassion, justice, and mercy. Through his life, death, and resurrection, we receive forgiveness, new life, and the call to love others as God loves us.
The Holy Spirit: Our Guide and Strength
We trust the Holy Spirit to guide and empower us—to give courage in hardship, wisdom in discernment, and energy for service. The Spirit binds us together as one body of Christ, whether we gather in Casper or serve throughout Wyoming.
The Bible and Our Tradition
We read scripture through the lens of Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and Experience—the Wesleyan “Quadrilateral.” This means our faith honors the Bible as our foundation while engaging both heart and mind, guided by the Spirit and informed by life in our community and world.
Faith in Action
We believe the church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. That happens every day—in worship, in service, in advocacy, and in fellowship. In Casper, that means feeding neighbors, caring for children and families, supporting those in need, and walking with others through life’s questions and challenges.
Everyone Has a Place at the Table
We believe every person is created in the image of God and has sacred worth. We welcome all people—of every age, race, background, identity, and story—to join us in discovering the depth of God’s grace and the joy of community.
Together, we seek to live out a faith that is open-hearted, thoughtful, and active—reflecting the beauty of God’s kingdom right here in Casper, Wyoming.
